My Thanksgiving

After a long trip through Vermont and New York we finally ended up in D.C.

Then we took a nap.

For Thanksgiving we had waffles. They were yummy.

After more napping, and goofing off

we realized it was time to head home.

That was a long trip, I don’t recommend doing it.

We are all fine, and all tired, and we’ll be back together for Christmas.

updates to the process of evolution

Anyone know a good painter? I have the trim up now I just need to paint it.

Don't you just love the 1950's arched doorways, so stylish, so classy, so damn hard to paint.

I also have a little more light in the porch now. It helps when I'm working past sunset.

Evolution

The evolution of the porch. (I’d describe it, but you know a picture is worth a thousand words.)

Thanks to my other helper elves for a lot of this work (Mom and Edna).

I still have work to do, but its almost there.

And a special Thank you to Grandma

I know this is a repeat of what was in the Video. I am using this post to explain to my Grandmother how a Blog works. Posted by Picasa

Closets The New White

With the assistance of some helper Elves (Pete and Jess) I got a ton of work done this past weekend.

My closets are now a pristine white, rather than a 1950’s turquoise or battleship grey.

I also have an official off driveway parking area, which looks better than parking on the grass.

Thank you both soooooo Very MUCH.

Wednesday's Clone

There is a cat on cute overload that looks exactly like Wednesday. If you don’t believe me see for yourself.

  • Cute Overload
  • We're Walking

Ruby has finally reached the next phase in her recovery. A 1/4 walk twice a day. She is so happy.

Ps. I usually do not let her pull so much when we walk, but I had the camera, and you know.

  • She Can Walk

  • This is Ruby after the walk.

    Wednesday on Tuesday

This is Wednesday. She is the most illusive of the three cats. She is quiet and sweet, and rarely makes trouble. She is also so sneaky that it is fairly difficult to get photographs of her.

The last photo that was taken of her was taken for our group Christmas card last year. Although, now that I think about it I should have saved these photos for the card. Oh well, enjoy your Christmas Wednesday early.

Here is a special shout out to Wilson, her first love. Posted by Picasa

    The fuzzy has returned

Ruby is recovering well. Her fur is growing back quite well. She has this very soft short hair that acts like a lint brush (she is always carrying around fur that doesn’t belong to her)

She rarely limps and keeps wondering when she will get to go for a walk (next Wednesday, shhhh don’t tell her it’s a surprise)

Ruby has adapted to life in the living room, although she is thinking it is time to buy her a new couch.

“Later dudes, its time to Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……..

An update of and to my husband

As most of you know my husband off getting “trained” as Harper put it. He is well into his second week and working hard. We finally have an end date to this training, which I will not post here. (I’ll email it out later)

We still have no idea where we might be going next. However I think we are prepared for anything.

    Now to my husband…

This is what I got done today.

    Before (actually way way before).

    Today.

    Do you like it?

    Celebrations, Birthdays and Blogs

Well it was a busy, busy week for practically everybody I knew. And luckily I got to see almost everyone. We celebrated my grandmothers 90th birthday (although she doesn’t turn 90 till December 9th).
    And
We celebrated Uncle Frank’s 95th birthday!!!

    And….

    We celebrated Harper’s 1st birthday.

    And

We talked about kids and blogs, and blogs and kids, and how lucky we were that we didn’t burn the place down with grandma’s cake.

I’m glad I got to see everyone.

    Halloweiner?

Forgive me. I had to post this little guy. Who ever thought of this is a genius.

    Part carpenter, Part magician.

The stuff I have to do to be able to fix things around here is unbelievable. Anybody looking for a house to buy? (I’m not kidding) It’s just a quick walk to the beach. :)

Ok, so in trying to fix the wall I had to come up with a way to hold the wall together without having to stand there for an hour and a half while the epoxy sets up.

I kept walking all over the house looking for things to make this work. Ruby must have thought I had lost my mind. This didn’t bode well for her since she is still caged and wouldn’t even have been able to eat my lifeless corpse after I ran amuck with the screw gun.

Don’t worry I haven’t gone mad, yet. Posted by Picasa

    Felcro Please.

Ruby is zipper free and loving it.

We went to the vet's office to get the staples removed today. Ruby headed into the office just fine. She even met the doctor with licks and wags. When she left the office she bolted for the door and almost broke the glass, and considering that the floor was slippery and she was wearing her spiky collar it was quite a feat.

Only 6 more weeks to go. Posted by Picasa
