Ok this is weird. My closest book is -
"Gun's Recognition Guide" by Ian Hogg and Terry Gander
The sentence reads...
"There is also a safety notch in the hammer and the trigger is disconnected from the firing mechanism unless the slide is fully forward."
(It is describing a Walther P5)

Ps. Just to make sure you don't think we are complete psychos here, my next closest book (i'm not making it up) is "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi. It would have been much more interesting.
