Happy Holidaze

Please forgive the pun, these last few days have past in a blur. Here are some of the things that have been going on at our family gatherings.

Some family tensions ran high.

Until everyone took a deep breath and decided to relax.

Then it was time to open presents.

This looks delicious!

It is delicious.

Happy Holidays to All. Hope it is not whole year before we all get together again.

Love Ruby

recently

I was able to be apart of some really fun firsts. Like Harper's first "Spring Break" to Mexico (whooo hoooo).

And the first two headed Giraffe. Don't believe me? Look closely at the picture below.

For more of Harper's "Spring Break" You can look on her blog.

Luck

Now you have to understand that I am not trying to count my chickens before they hatch. I would never assume that the universe is done teaching me a lesson. But why the universe feels like it has to beat a dead horse is still a mystery to me.

I have had a fairly descent run of good luck lately. (knock on wood) I just hope I can make it last.

I was able to find my sneakers in our storage unit. Our storage unit looks like the back of a moving truck. Everything is piled as high as it will go, and stacked 20 feet deep.

Now I'm hoping to extend this luck into our other ventures. I am also hoping that our next house will be a little bigger than this one. Although the puppy is really cute.

Good luck to you all.

Last Week

This past week I was out in Colorado. I got to see my cousin and his family.

I was also traveling with my sister in-law.

We also has a little time to go to the Zoo. We saw lots of fun things. Like; Seahorses

And tigers, and bears (oh my) We saw Bear feet and Bear butts. We also saw balls come out of Elephant butts. (You'll have to ask Ellie about that)

We also had a little work to do. Here are a couple before and after photos. I don't want to depress you so I only added two rooms, the living room and the 3rd bedroom.

Before

After

Before (this was all we could see from the doorway)

After

This is a 20 cubic yard dumpster. A cubic yard is 3 feet high by 3 feet wide by 3 feet deep (just in case you were wondering).
We filled 3 of these.

Next time I go out to Colorado I hope I have a little more time to have some fun. I want to thank my family who live out there. My cousin and family and my mom's cousin. I don't know if we could have survived with out your wonderful care. You helped up out, you fed us, you kept us going. You all are some of the best people I know and I can't thank you enough.

What do these things have in Common?

These three things have been causing me some stress lately. If you didn't guess by the second photo, the brakes or brake lines failed on the Ford. If you haven't had to replace a brake line or two, you wouldn't know the price tag associated with the repair. However since brakes control 50% of your cars motion, we decided it was better to get it fixed. It did make for an interesting day of doing errands, when the brake lines failed and subsequently the brakes failed. There is nothing like it to get you heart pumping when in traffic.

Now I figure we can either laugh our way through this as in; what more can happen at this moment to make things absolutely perfect... (just a wee bit of sarcasm there)

Or we could just cry...

I think we'll choose to laugh about it (maybe in a few days). What else can we do but give up or give in and we're not even close to that (yet).
(Not that we're tempting fate [gentle glance upward] we have had enough bad things to last us quite a while, thanks.)

PS. The ABS housing for both front tires is also being replaced $$$

lots going on

Wow there is so much going on right now i think my head is spinning. Two out of the three new additions have arrived already, the third is due shortly. We've had people go from two to three. And my cousin just went from one to two. (She's the little girl pictured below, she is missing a lot of her fur but I love her anyway)

I also helped my grandad and my mom put up a new fence. I said "screw the fence lets just move back there". My mom said we couldn't because of my dad's new job. Ok but he owes me big time, that was my first back yard to run around in. I did a few crazy circles for old time sake. Here is the new fence, I held the level, that is why it's so straight.

The front yard is nice and cozy now, but for some reason my mom said I still wasn't allowed to play so close to the road. Parents they don't let you do anything fun.

Well we are getting closer to the holiday season. My favorite is thanksgiving (I love turkey, if anyone needs gift ideas) Lots of birthday's and fun stuff to go do and see. And then... Dare I say it. The... Winter Solstice. (gotcha) The shortest day of the year will be soon upon us, time to break out those little lights to help make the darkness not seem so powerful. You thought I was going to say Christmas. Naaawwww that's ages away. Hope to see you all at some point. Hope the house sells too. That way my mom can stop complaining about it.

Love, Ruby

PS. Thanks Grandpa, the fence looks really nice

Doggy DNA

As I'm sure most of have heard already about the ability to test your dogs DNA and figure out what breeds are in mix breed dogs. I don't know about the rest of you but I am super excited to try it. And we will be trying it possibly next year. (I want the blood test version that tracks more breeds, over the mouth swab that only does about 38)

Well now that my mom has spoken, I get my say. I say its not important about where you come from so long as your with family. It doesn't matter what your DNA make up is or if it is different from everybody else in your family. What is important is to love being who you are, love your family and have plenty of freeze dried chicken, uh I mean, and be loved by your family.

Now on the other hand, who wouldn't want to find out more about this face?

Here are some links if you are interested.

The waiting game

What am I waiting for? I think perhaps for: George W. Bush to finally be out of office, The Feds to finally lower the interest rate before the entire economy comes crashing down, my husband to get home from work, the cake to come out of the oven, the washer to finish washing, the drier to finish drying, Ruby to eat her breakfast, the mail to be delivered, the paint to dry, the glue to stick and I am desperately waiting for someone to buy or rent my house so I can get on with the rest of my life.
Frustrations are at an all time high, just like oil prices and mortgage rates. Other than that no news here. Good luck to all of you other waiters out there.

PS. Don't you like number 3? He's my favorite.
