Yard Work

So I had been out cleaning up from this winter, enjoying the 50 degree weather (when it came). Trimming way overgrown bushes down to a more reasonable size. To give you a size reference the bottom of the window is just over 5 feet tall. Just high enough for me to keep banging the top of my head into. The before pictures were taken early spring and mid summer of this past year. The after pictures were this week. The bushes are not done, I wanted to give them a chance to recover before I cut back the front to where it should be. (Or it might kill them)

Then this morning I woke up to This!

March - In like a lion, out like a smaller lion?

Is it Spring Yet?

I thought I heard someone mention spring. This was taken this morning,

we have another 6 inches fore casted for this afternoon.

Out of everyone I know, and I mean EVERYONE. I am the only one that still

loves a good snow storm. Even in March.

Ok maybe not the only one.

Self Tagged

Here are the rules.

1. Go to your picture folder & select the sixth folder.
2. Select the sixth picture in the folder.
3. Tag six people....

I, much like my sister have changes the rules too. It is now a Tag Yourself option.

Here is my 6th picture. It is my sixth picture of the first folder (I don't have six folders, at least not is one spot).

This is Ruby running crazy through my mom's back yard after a huge snowstorm last year. She is going on 5 years old and still runs just as crazy. Just look at the slightly crossed eyes and the helter skelter dog tags.

Redundancy

I have noticed of late, that only two of my many household critters have been showing up on the blog. There is a perfectly good reason for this, as I do not have favorites. Most of the other critters when I am trying to take a picture of them look like;

this,

or this.

I think its genetic.

Kitten Antics and Pierced Ears

Stella has lately decided that every surface is her own personal cat tree. She likes to sit on top of the TV, on top of the freezer and my shoulder while I'm trying to make dinner.

Ruby on the other hand decided she was going to try piercing her ears. She managed to get a scratch so deep on her ear, it actually poked all the way through her ear. She was running all crazy like through the woods near dusk, and must have run into a tree branch or bramble that sliced a pretty good chunk out of her ear. She is doing fine, we are holding off on the gold hoops till she gets a little older. She was very patient while we cleaned her ear and applied neosporin, and has been a bit more cautious while running through the woods. Although I expect this to wear off as she forgets what happened the last time.

Mass Hysteria!

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions!

Mayor: What do you mean "biblical"?

Dr. Raymond Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff! Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!

Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness, earthquakes, and volcano's!

Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!

Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifices, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Thats right! You can panic now.

Rockin' in the New Year

This is how we spent New Years.
"Hey!" (in the James Brown it's too hot in the hot tub 'hey'.)

Actually it looked more like this...
"The whats dropping? Don't let it fall on you. Zzzzzzzzzz..."

Happy New Years to All and to All a Goodnight.

Where do i begin.

First, it got cold.

Very Cold.

Our Furnace decided it didn't want to work anymore, and died shortly after Thanksgiving. Everybody was cold while we waited to have a new furnace installed.

Ahhhhh, heat. It took them a day to install it, luckily it was warmer out side than it was suppose to be that time of year so nothing froze.

Then Harper and I turned into rabbits.
Not really, we were playing at the Children's Zoo in Central Park.

Then the girls decided to grow up on me. I had to take them to the doctors to get a special operation to... well you know. They are both recovering fine and don't remember much of that day.

Over Christmas Harper had to explain to Popo and Great Grandma that this is a map of the United States and it holds those funny collectible quarters. She managed to put the pieces that the two previous generations had taken out back in the right order (in a matter of minutes).

Happy Holidays to you all.
Our holiday cards will probably be ready by next year (2010 that is).

What is Tagging?

I'm not really sure, but I'm game.

I was tagged by Harper.

The Rules:
1. Grab the nearest book
2. Open it to page 56
3. Find the 5th sentence
4.Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with instructions
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book or the most intellectual - Pick the CLOSEST.

Ok this is weird. My closest book is -

"Gun's Recognition Guide" by Ian Hogg and Terry Gander

The sentence reads...

"There is also a safety notch in the hammer and the trigger is disconnected from the firing mechanism unless the slide is fully forward."
(It is describing a Walther P5)

Andy, you are next.

Ps. Just to make sure you don't think we are complete psychos here, my next closest book (i'm not making it up) is "Reading Lolita in Tehran" by Azar Nafisi. It would have been much more interesting.

out with the faux...in with the new.

Ok that was bad. Here's the story. Every time we saw the house, I kept looking at the banister and thinking that there is something amiss. Well as it turns out there was something funky about it. Its painted to look like wood, which had the odd effect of making it look like plastic. Not good fresh new plastic but worn out, beaten up, at the end of its life plastic.

See for yourself.

Well that left me with a few choices. One, I could take the time to strip numerous layers of paint and finish out of all the nooks and crannies, sand it, and then have to refinish it.
Or
Option number two, just paint over it all. (which still isn't as fun as it sounds)

I choose paint. (it was cheaper)

Wedding pictures

This was what I was up to last weekend. My sister in-law got married. It took place in Brooklyn, right near the bridge. These pictures were taken by someone else. (they let me borrow them)

The Groom's side.

The Bride's side.

The Bride and Groom.

The Paebaek Tea Ceremony.
(Korean Ceremony to honor the parents)

The sweet wonderful people that I borrowed the pictures from.

Fun in the rain.
Yes, that is the bride running through the down pour that happened later that night.

busy busy busy...

I know you all feel the same way.

What have we been up too? Well... There isn't much to say actually just day to day nonsense, new members of the family to keep in line, and my sister in-law got married yesterday. No pictures of that event (yet) I was a bridesmaid and a little busy.

So... you'll just have to put up with kitten pictures.
